Canberra's Best Seasons: Plan Your Trip Around These Events

In short: Canberra is a four season city, and the best time to visit depends on what you are after. Spring brings Floriade, autumn brings spectacular colour, summer is warm and event filled, and winter is cold, crisp and quiet.

Spring (September to November)

Arguably the most popular time to visit, thanks to Floriade, mild days and blossoming gardens. Book accommodation early during the festival.

Autumn (March to May)

Summer (December to February)
