The Daily Canberra

Local News, Canberra. Every Day.

Multiple Sources. Transparent Technology.

Daily Network editorial team

The Daily Network editorial team publishes local news for Canberra every day. AI systems help curate, summarise and generate content from verified local sources. Every draft is checked with reasonable editorial care before publication, with sensitive material held for human review.

How our journalism works

New reporting begins with a verified local source, and we are adding sources to older articles as we review them. We monitor a curated list of official feeds, government releases, public records and established Canberra news outlets. Nothing is sourced from anonymous social media posts or unverified tips.

Our AI systems summarise and draft each article from those named sources, with links back to the originals, where available, so readers can verify the underlying record. Every draft then passes an automated editorial screen against our published standards before it can go live.

Crime, court, politics, allegations, misconduct and insolvency stories never publish automatically. They are held back and reviewed by a person before release. Coverage is AI-assisted journalism under human editorial accountability and risk-based review. Some lower-risk coverage such as community roundups, events and guides may be published automatically after sourcing, accuracy and safety checks.

Reasonable editorial care
